A study in North Carolina found that bystander CPR rates for cardiac arrest significantly increased when 911 operators provided guidance. Without help, CPR was performed in 11% of cases for men and 9% for women, rising to 40% and 44%, respectively, with guidance. The study suggests survival rates increase with quicker CPR, highlighting the importance of 911 operator assistance and public CPR education.
