Warner Bros. Animation and Bad Robot are developing an animated film based on the character Emily the Strange, created by Rob Reger. Known for her punk rock aesthetic and themes of individuality, Emily has been a popular icon since the 1990s, expanding into a multi-million-dollar brand. Pamela Ribon, recognized for her work on films like Moana, will write the screenplay. The release date for the film has yet to be announced.
