Study finds people overestimate their information about opinions and become more open-minded when exposed to both sides.

A study in Plos One from Ohio State University reveals that people often feel confidently wrong about their opinions, believing they have enough information when they don't. Nearly 1,300 participants read one-sided arguments about a school water crisis. Those exposed to both sides were more willing to change their minds and reported less confidence in their conclusions. The findings highlight the importance of curiosity and humility in decision-making, as many underestimate the information needed to form informed opinions.
