2021 CSIS warrant approval by Bill Blair took 54 days, significantly longer than usual, attributed to COVID-19 disruptions.

A public inquiry revealed that a Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) warrant application took 54 days for approval from former Public Safety Minister Bill Blair in 2021, significantly longer than the typical 4-10 days. Former deputy minister Rob Stewart stated the delay was not unusual, attributing it to COVID-19 disruptions. Blair signed the warrant shortly after being informed about it. The inquiry is also investigating China's alleged police stations in Canada.
