A 58-year-old Minnesota motorcyclist, Garrett Dawson, was killed in an alcohol-related crash on Saturday evening in Minnetonka. His motorcycle, carrying him and passenger Melissa Varner, also 58, struck a concrete curb while entering westbound Highway 12. Dawson died at the scene, while Varner suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to North Memorial Hospital. Neither rider wore a helmet, and alcohol was a factor in the incident, according to preliminary reports.
