King Charles III has appointed Sophie Wessex, Duchess of Edinburgh, as the new patron of Girlguiding, succeeding the late Queen Elizabeth II. This organization, the UK's largest for girls, promotes gender equality and empowerment. Sophie, who has been involved since childhood and served as President since 2003, will begin her new role at an event at Brooklands Museum, supporting girls in STEM careers. The Queen's Award will continue to honor Elizabeth's legacy.
