Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney announced the company is now "financially sound" after laying off around 830 employees in 2023. At Unreal Fest 2024, he highlighted new records for Fortnite and the Epic Games Store, with Fortnite peaking at 110 million monthly active users and the Store reaching 70 million. Additionally, Epic plans to reduce its Unreal Engine royalty fee from 5% to 3.5% for games launching on its Store and is pursuing legal action against Google and Samsung.
