Anambra State electoral commission abandons BVAS due to reliability, opting for manual accreditation for September 28 local elections.
The Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) will not use the Biometric Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) for the September 28 local government elections due to reliability concerns, opting for manual accreditation instead. The commission has trained over 5,720 ad-hoc staff and assured timely delivery of election materials. Elections will not occur in Nnewi South, Orumba South, and Idemili South for safety reasons.
