Jules Desjarlais, 20, has been charged with second-degree murder and other offenses following the fatal assault of 52-year-old Lucy Wood in a Winnipeg apartment building. Wood was found critically injured on Sunday and later died in the hospital. Desjarlais was arrested at the scene and remains in custody. The Homicide Unit is investigating the incident, and the charges against him have not yet been proven in court.
