Environment Agency's response to water pollution incidents in West Oxfordshire decreased since the pandemic.

A Freedom of Information request by RADAR reveals that the Environment Agency's response to water pollution incidents in West Oxfordshire decreased since the pandemic, with only 30 out of 147 incidents visited immediately from 2018 to 2023. The agency cited reasons such as remote handling and delayed reporting. Nationally, attendance dropped from 36% in 2018 to 20% in 2020, then rose to 27% in 2021. Greenpeace's Dr. Doug Parr advocates for increased resources for water regulators.
