The Central Young Chakma Association (CYCA) has urged the interim Bangladesh government to revoke the Army's magisterial and policing powers, fearing misuse against indigenous people in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHTs). Thousands of Buddhist Chakmas have protested in Mizoram and Tripura against ongoing violence, claiming recent attacks have left several dead and many injured. The CYCA has called for India to address these issues at the UN and reconsider diplomatic relations with Bangladesh.
