Marshall A. Raines, 83, a former part-time court officer in Marion County, Tennessee, has been charged with sexually assaulting three female inmates during transportation from September 2022 to March 2023. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation initiated an investigation following complaints, leading to charges of sexual battery, sexual contact with an inmate, official misconduct, and official oppression. Raines is no longer employed by the sheriff's department and is presumed innocent.
