In 2021, 17-year-old Jennifer Winkler was fatally stabbed by fellow student Dylan Pountney during a break in a Leduc, Alberta high school class. Her father, Dale Winkler, expressed his anguish at a sentencing hearing, wishing for Pountney to "rot in hell." Jennifer died from severe blood loss due to five stab wounds.
