Missouri's maternal mortality report (Aug 30) reveals a 32.2 deaths per 100,000 live births ratio, with Black women's ratio 2.5 times higher than white women. 77% of pregnancy-related deaths were found to be preventable. Cardiovascular diseases, mental health conditions, and infections were the leading causes of death.
