An Arkansas committee, created by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, has proposed measures to enhance maternal health in the state, responding to a 2022 infant mortality rate of 7.67%. Recommendations include reimbursing doulas and community health workers, improving Medicaid processes, and increasing prenatal care through a media campaign. The committee also aims to secure a Transforming Maternal Health Grant, potentially worth $17 million over a decade, to support these initiatives.
