South Korean lithium battery maker Aricell's CEO, Park Soon-kwan, has been arrested over allegations of violating industrial safety law, following a June factory fire that killed 23 people. The Suwon District Court approved Park's detention warrant, citing the severity of the allegations. The fire investigation revealed that a rush to meet a supply deadline, a failure to address dangerous quality defects, and hiring untrained temporary workers contributed to the disaster.
