U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has detained $43 million worth of electronics equipment from India since October, under the 2022 Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) targeting goods from China's Xinjiang region. Indian solar panels have been a main focus, as polysilicon, a key raw material, is a high-priority sector under the UFLPA. This increased scrutiny reflects CBP's efforts to broaden their enforcement beyond major China-based solar panel makers.
