40-year-old Adan Gutierrez was arrested by off-duty El Paso County Sheriff's deputies at Cielo Vista Mall after mall employees reported he had allegedly stolen $9,000 worth of jewelry. The deputies detained Gutierrez as he attempted to exit the mall, and found the stolen items on his person. He was handed over to the El Paso Police Department's detectives for further investigation.
