2019 CCT conviction of former CJN Onnoghen to be challenged at Court of Appeal on August 20.

Former CJN, Onnoghen, to resume legal battle against 2019 CCT judgment on August 20 at Court of Appeal. He seeks to quash his conviction on grounds of lack of jurisdiction, bias, and absence of fair hearing, arguing that the CCT lacked authority over a serving judicial officer and that the chairman should have recused himself. Onnoghen was removed from office and barred from holding public office for 10 years after a 2019 conviction on six counts of false asset declaration.
