Tasmania's state government provided $1.1 million in legal aid for 27 public servants involved in the Tasmanian Commission of Inquiry into child sexual abuse. Over 1,267 redress claims have been accepted, with $63.9 million paid out since joining the national redress scheme in 2018, which averages $77,099 per offer. An independent review is underway to determine if public servants who received legal assistance grants should reimburse the government.
