20 uterus transplant recipients with infertility had 16 live births without congenital malformations, but 50% faced complications.

20 participants with uterine factor infertility received uterus transplants in a study published in JAMA. Of the 14 successful transplants, 16 live babies were born with no congenital malformations. However, 50% of successful pregnancies experienced maternal or obstetrical complications and 11 recipients faced at least one complication. The study demonstrates that uterus transplants are feasible and have a high live birth rate, but medical and surgical risks affect both recipients and donors.
