23-year-old Chase Faimon of Valley Center received a 2.5-year prison sentence for his involvement in a deadly hit-and-run incident in Wichita. Faimon, who drove the vehicle that struck 48-year-old Kristine Sheffield on Feb 20, 2023, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident. Faimon initially faced charges of first-degree murder or second-degree murder, but the defense argued he did not realize he hit a person until after the event. Sheffield was crossing the street when struck and later died in the hospital.
