Mariko Silver appointed as new Lincoln Center president, succeeding Henry Timms.
Mariko Silver, former head of Bennington College, is appointed as the new president of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, taking over from Henry Timms who served for five years. Silver, who has a background in arts administration and economic geography, will join Lincoln Center on September 23. She expressed her excitement about contributing to the planned redevelopment of the western side of the campus and making the institution more accessible and diverse in its programming. Lincoln Center is home to 11 arts organizations, including the Metropolitan Opera, New York Philharmonic, and New York City Ballet.
