Joni Mitchell's "The Asylum Years" archival release, featuring unreleased recordings and live tracks, is set to release on October 4th.

Joni Mitchell's "Archives, Vol. 4: The Asylum Years (1976-1980)" is set to release on October 4th, featuring early recordings and alternate takes from the artist's albums "Hejira", "Don Juan's Reckless Daughter", and "Mingus", along with her 1980 live album "Shadows and Light". The album, the fourth installment in her archival series, will be available in six-CD, four-LP, or digital format. The package includes a book of never-before-seen photos and liner notes featuring a discussion between Mitchell and filmmaker Cameron Crowe about her career during this five-year period. This installment of the archival series also includes live tracks from her performances during Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue, the Bread & Roses festival in 1978, an Anti-Nuclear Rally in Washington, D.C. in 1979, and her 1979 tour.
