Belfast supermarket damaged in third targeted fire; manager accuses police of inaction.
A supermarket in Belfast's Donegall Road area was severely damaged in a fire during a night of unrest in the city. The store's Muslim manager accused the police of inaction, claiming that his business and others in the Muslim community were being deliberately targeted. This is the third time the supermarket has been targeted, and the manager questioned the safety of the area, stating that "all of that happened and the police did nothing, I am telling you the truth." The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the fires at both establishments were caused deliberately.
