Independent Newcastle lord mayoral candidate, Dr. Ross Kerridge, has vowed to initiate a fresh investigation into the Neylon-Sivo letter-writing scandal if elected. Kerridge aims to restore public trust in the Newcastle council and examine any links between City of Newcastle chief Jeremy Bath and the letters. All non-Labor councillors have called for a new probe, and Bath is currently on leave until Sept. 30.
