The Telangana government has introduced a Skill University Bill to address high unemployment and create a skilled workforce. The Young India Skill University, initially operating from a temporary campus, aims to enroll 2,000 students in its first academic year, with plans to increase intake to 10,000 the following year. The university will offer 17 courses, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, AI, and digital design, and charge a nominal annual fee of ₹50,000, with possible fee reimbursement for SC, ST, and OBC students. The university will operate in a public-private partnership model with industry partners such as Adani Logistics, SBI, and Dr. Reddy's Labs, offering degree, diploma, and certificate programs.
