A federal judge ruled that a North Carolina law requiring doctors to document the location of a pregnancy before prescribing abortion pills should be permanently blocked due to its vagueness. However, the same judge upheld a provision that requires abortions after 12 weeks to be performed in hospitals. The judge previously blocked both provisions while a lawsuit challenging parts of the state's abortion law was litigated further.
