Irish charity Dogs Trust warns of potential heatstroke in dogs left in parked cars during hot weather.
Irish charity Dogs Trust warns dog owners about the dangers of hot weather, as temperatures inside a car can rise 11 degrees in just 10 minutes. Dogs rely on panting and paw pad heat release to cool down, but high air and ground temperatures make this difficult, leading to a real risk of heatstroke. The charity urges owners not to leave pets in parked cars, even if the car is in the shade or windows are down.
