BC SPCA warns against leaving pets in hot cars during heatwave; life-threatening consequences.

The BC SPCA is reminding the public to not leave pets in hot cars during the current heatwave as temperatures rise to 30 degrees and beyond across the province. Leaving pets in hot vehicles can have life-threatening consequences, with even short trips potentially causing fatal effects for animals. The BC SPCA advises leaving pets at home and not bringing them along on errands unless you can ensure they can be brought into the stores you plan to visit. Breaking a car window to remove an animal is illegal and dangerous.
