Asian Development Bank approves $400m loan to reconstruct houses and infrastructure in Pakistan's flood-hit Sindh province.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $400 million loan to reconstruct houses and community infrastructure in Pakistan's flood-hit Sindh province, which suffered 83% housing damage in 2022. The Sindh Emergency Housing Reconstruction Project aims to rehabilitate flood-damaged homes and infrastructure, support livelihood recovery, and enhance communities' resilience against climate-induced natural hazards. It forms part of ADB's multifaceted response to Pakistan's flood crisis, and their commitment of $1.5 billion in total assistance from 2023 to 2025 to accelerate the country's flood recovery.
