The Knights of Columbus covered mosaics by accused abuser, Father Marko Rupnik, in their Washington D.C. shrine, in support of abuse victims.
The Knights of Columbus, the world's largest Catholic fraternal group, has covered mosaics in its Washington D.C. shrine by the ex-Jesuit artist accused of abusing women, as a sign of solidarity with victims of abuse. The influential Catholic charitable organization announced the decision after more than 20 women accused the artist, Father Marko Rupnik, of abuse. The mosaics, which depict biblical scenes, saints, and the Virgin Mary, have been covered with paper for now and will be replaced by fabric once possible, ensuring that they are appropriate for a worship space.
