The Congress criticized the government for seemingly admitting to a national unemployment crisis and accused Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's budget speech of focusing more on posturing than action. The opposition party's claim came after Sitharaman announced three employment-linked schemes in her budget speech. The Congress has also accused the government of borrowing ideas from their Lok Sabha election manifesto for the 2024-25 fiscal year.
