K-Electric, Karachi's primary power provider, seeks a Rs5.45 per unit electricity tariff increase for May & June 2024 under FCA framework due to rising fuel costs. If approved by Nepra, this could strain consumers already dealing with inflation and reduced income. The government recently increased domestic consumer base tariff by up to Rs48.84 per unit. A hearing is set for July 30.
