Chinese-contracted railway project in Malawi by China Railway 20th Bureau Group is benefiting locals by providing jobs and improving living conditions. The 72-km railway aims to connect southern African countries to Zambia and Mozambique's port of Beira, enhancing cross-border trade in minerals, agricultural products, and other resources. Expected to be completed in Oct 2025, it may also reduce commodity prices in Nsanje district.
