India's tea industry calls for higher RoDTEP rates to enhance global competitiveness.

The tea industry in India is seeking higher RoDTEP (Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products) rates to boost competitiveness in global markets. The Indian Tea Association (ITA) and Tea Association of India (TAI) have both urged the government to increase RoDTEP rates for tea exports, arguing that the current 1.7% rate (free on board) and the cap of Rs 6.70 per kilogram are insufficient. The RoDTEP scheme ensures exporters receive refunds on previously non-recoverable taxes and duties.
