Hong Kong's Housing Authority is set to increase public housing rents by 10% from October 1, with a three-month waiver for tenants. The average rent increase per household is HK$230, ranging from HK$49 to HK$572. The decision follows a review of the public rental housing (PRH) rent index, which showed an increase of 10.73% in 2023 compared to 2021. Around 60% of tenants will see a monthly rent increase of HK$250 or less.
