Guangzhou's Nansha New Area is addressing marine plastic waste by turning discarded bottles into scarves. A scarf made from three plastic bottles collected from Guangdong Province's beaches was displayed at a recent press conference on China's achievements in environment protection and bay construction. The innovative idea aims to protect and restore a 45 mu (3 hectares) natural mangrove forest in the area.
