20-year-old gymnast Kayla DiCello, who trained her whole life for the U.S. women's Olympic gymnastics team, ruptured her Achilles tendon during the opening routine of the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials on June 27. The injury, which occurred after thousands of successful attempts at a double-twisting Yurchenko vault, left DiCello in tears and in a wheelchair, putting her Olympic dream on hold.
