Doctors at RMLIMS, Lucknow removed a 5.5 kg kidney tumour from a 56-year-old woman, marking the second heaviest kidney tumour removal in India. The patient, Madhuri, had suffered severe stomach pain for two years before her diagnosis and treatment at RMLIMS. The surgery, conducted on June 27, took four hours and involved a complex procedure to extract the tumour that had spread to a major vein, the inferior vena cava. Madhuri is expected to be discharged next week.
