A Memory boxes project in Cork using old photographs to trigger memories among dementia patients has been praised for its success. Funded by Cork City Council, the project involves Music And Memories boxes containing 20 old photographs, 15 CDs featuring music residents would be likely to have listened to in their youth, dementia-friendly books, and a jigsaw. Organisers are now calling for the project to be rolled out nationwide.
