2024 construction begins for Bristol Zoo's Central African Forest habitat, featuring gorilla, crocodile, and parrot homes, expected completion in 2025.

Work has started at Bristol Zoo Project on a new "Central African Forest" habitat, aimed at creating a home for critically endangered species, including western lowland gorillas, cherry-crowned mangabeys, and slender-snouted crocodiles. The ambitious project will also include a new gorilla house, crocodile house, and parrot aviary. Construction is set to begin in 2024 and be completed in phases over several years, with the goal of opening the habitat in spring 2025.
