A UC Riverside study identifies artificial greenhouse gases potentially signaling alien activity on terraformed planets.

A new UC Riverside study identifies artificial greenhouse gases that could signal alien activity on terraformed planets. The gases, detectable at low concentrations in exoplanet atmospheres using existing technology, could be used by an alien civilization to prevent ice ages or transform otherwise-uninhabitable planets. The gases, including fluorinated methane, ethane, and propane, as well as nitrogen-fluorine and sulfur-fluorine gases, are not naturally occurring and would be signs of intelligent life.
