New study reveals that individuals over 50 with anxiety may have double the risk of developing Parkinson's disease, a neurodegenerative disorder affecting 10 million people worldwide. Researchers from University College London found that anxiety symptoms such as depression, sleep disturbances, and cognitive impairment increase the risk of Parkinson's, particularly in patients over 50.
