Simcoe's Ryerse's Garden Gallery, a well-known garden center and flower shop, was destroyed by a fire early Thursday morning. The 6,000 sq ft building was fully engulfed in flames at around 4:30 a.m., with fire crews managing to bring the fire under control by 9 a.m. The fire marshal's office will investigate the cause of the fire, and initial concerns about fertilizer and runoff into a nearby creek were unfounded.
