The American Society of Clinical Oncology recommends palliative care for all advanced cancer patients.
The American Society of Clinical Oncology recommends palliative care for all advanced cancer patients at diagnosis and during treatment. Palliative care helps manage cancer-related symptoms, side effects, and patient well-being. By 2025, 693,000 US patients will have advanced cancers such as breast, prostate, lung, colorectal, bladder, or skin cancer. Early palliative care may help patients stay on treatment and address quality of life concerns.
