President Biden's administration will not deport many undocumented immigrants married to U.S. citizens, allowing them to gain legal status without leaving the country.

President Biden announced his administration will not deport many undocumented immigrants married to U.S. citizens or whose parent is married to a U.S. citizen. The new program, run by the Department of Homeland Security, allows adult illegal immigrants who have lived in the U.S. for at least 10 years and are married to a U.S. citizen to gain legal status without leaving the country. The decision will affect approximately 500,000 spouses of U.S. citizens and about 50,000 children.
