The couple ran a corner shop together in Bedfordshire, where Carol was brutally murdered with an axe or machete. Morgan was having an affair with his current wife, Margaret, at the time of the murder. The case was reopened in 2018, and Morgan was convicted after a two-month trial. Margaret Morgan was acquitted of the same charge.
