UK average house prices increased by 1.1% annually in April, marking the second consecutive month of annual price rises after eight months of declines. The Office for National Statistics reported that house prices rose by 0.6% in England, 0.4% in Wales, and 4.5% in Scotland in the same period. The average private rent in Britain also increased by 8.7% in the 12 months to May. This acceleration in house prices follows a slowdown in inflation to 2%.
