Carrefour's shares fell 7.91% after reports suggested France's economic and finance ministry recommended a €200M fine for the retailer's franchise network management. The ministry claims unbalanced contracts with some franchisee stores, while Carrefour denies the accusations and plans to challenge the fine. The ministry's General Directorate for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control is asking the Rennes Commercial Court to declare certain contract clauses null and void.
